About the Recipe

Flaky puff pastry wrapped around juicy hotdogs — a Shabbat favorite for kids and adults!

Ingredients

Ingredients:


    •    1 package hotdogs, sausages, or knockwurst (about 8–10 pieces)

    •    1 package puff pastry, thawed if frozen

    •    1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

    •    Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Preparation

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.


Step 2: Prepare the Hot Dogs

Cut each hot dog into 1-inch slices (or thinner, if you prefer smaller bites).


Step 3: Prepare the Pastry

Cut the puff pastry sheets into strips wide enough to wrap around each hot dog piece.You can also cut the pastry into rectangles if you prefer a fuller wrap.


Step 4: Wrap the Hot Dogs

Roll each hot dog slice in a strip of puff pastry, sealing the edge gently with your fingers.Place each one seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.


Step 5: Finish and Bake

Brush the tops with a beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds for extra flavor and crunch.Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the pastry is golden and puffed.


Step 6: Serve and Enjoy

Serve warm with mustard, ketchup, or your favorite dipping sauce.
