About the Recipe

A sweet, crunchy, and totally addictive Passover-friendly treat!

Ingredients

Ingredients:

- 9 soft Medjool Dates

- 1 matzah square

- 1/3 cup peanut butter

- 1/3 cup melted semi-sweet chocolate

- Flaky salt

Topping Options:

- Dried cranberries

- Chopped nuts

- Raisins

Preparation

Directions:

1. Prepare the Dates:

Slice each date open down the center, remove the pit, and spread it open like a butterfly.

2. Arrange the Dates:

Arrange the dates in three rows of three, placing them face down on a sheet of parchment paper.

3. Flatten the Dates:

Place another sheet of parchment paper on top, then use a rolling pin to flatten the dates slightly.

4. Press the Matzah:

Remove the top parchment and gently press the matzah square onto the dates, being careful not to crack it.

5. Flip the Matzah:

Flip the matzah over so the date side is facing up.

6. Melt the Peanut Butter:

Melt the peanut butter in the microwave for about 20 seconds, then pour and spread it evenly over the dates.

7. Melt the Chocolate:

Melt the chocolate, then pour and spread it over the peanut butter layer.

8. Add Toppings:

Sprinkle with flaky salt and any toppings of your choice.

9. Freeze:

Place in the freezer to set. It won’t freeze solid, so you can enjoy it straight from the freezer!

10. Break and Enjoy:

Break into pieces and enjoy—because who needs store-bought Passover desserts when you have this?
