Made with only six wholesome ingredients and no refined sugar, these Maple Pecan Cookies are a modern twist on a classic. They're rich, nutty, citrusy, and coated in a snowy blanket of powdered sugar that makes them truly irresistible.

Preparation

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.

  2. Make the dough:In a large bowl, combine:

    • Crushed pecans

    • Salt

    • Maple syrup

    • Oil

    • Orange zest

    • Flour

Mix well with a spoon or your hands until a soft, slightly crumbly dough comes together.

  3. Adjust the texture if needed:

    • If the dough is too dry and crumbly, add a bit more maple syrup (1 tablespoon at a time).

    • If it's too wet or sticky, sprinkle in a little more flour.

  1. Portion the cookies:Using a mini cookie scoop or spoon, scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet.

  1. Flatten the cookies:Place a second sheet of parchment paper over the scooped dough. Gently press down each cookie with the bottom of a cup to flatten them into neat, round discs. Then remove the top parchment sheet.

  1. Bake:Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly golden. The tops will remain fairly pale—this is normal.

  1. Cool:Let the cookies cool completely on the baking sheet.

  1. Coat with powdered sugar:Once cooled, place the cookies in a bowl of powdered sugar and toss gently to coat all sides.
