About the Recipe

Quick & easy donut holes! The ultimate shortcut to sufganiyot! No kneading, no waiting, no shaping—just mix, fry, and enjoy.

Frying Tips: 1 Use a thermometer (linked in my Amazon storefront) to keep the oil at the perfect temp. Too hot = burnt outside, raw inside. Too cold = greasy donuts. 2 Be patient! Let them cook fully for that perfect golden-brown finish. Delicious, simple, and done in minutes—your Hanukkah just got sweeter!

Ingredients

Ingredients:

- 1 1/4 cups (200g) self-rising flour (or regular flour + 1 tsp baking powder)

- 1 large egg

- 1/3 cup (90g) granulated sugar

- 1 cup Greek yogurt (or non-dairy yogurt for a parve option)

- 1 tbsp rum (prevents oil absorption without altering flavor)

- Pinch of salt

- Zest of 1/2 a lemon

For frying: Plenty of canola, vegetable, or grapeseed oil.

For serving: Powdered sugar for dusting and your favorite dips.

Quick, simple, and endlessly customizable!

Cooking Instructions

1. Heat the Oil: Warm your frying oil to 365°F.

2. Prepare the Dough: Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Mix until the dough is smooth—it should be neither too runny nor too thick.

3. Scoop the Dough: Use a mini scooper coated in oil for uniform donut holes.

4. Fry the Donuts: Carefully spoon or scoop the dough into the hot oil. Work in batches to avoid overcrowding.

5. Rotate While Frying: Gently turn the donuts to ensure even cooking.

6. Drain the Oil: Once golden brown, remove the donuts and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

7. Add the Finishing Touch: Generously dust with powdered sugar.

8. Serve & Enjoy: Pair with your favorite dips and savor every bite.

Happy frying!
